Some of you may know this, and I apologize for those of you who don't, but the Enemy Infestation downloadable demo is available on our FTP site. Those of you not familiar with Enemy Infestation...I guess I can best sum it up as a sort of cross between X-Com and Starcraft...a real-time 3D squad-based Strategy/Action title from an isometric point of view. You will find an old press release on our website (www.ripcordgames.com) - hey! I'm working on a new one! - but it is inaccurate in that the aliens are no longer Mantis-like, you can no longer play the part of the aliens BUT there are great randomized weapon effects and other cool stuff instead. Call or email me if you have any questions (besides "Where is Space Bunnies?")...Enemy Infestation has gone gold and begins shipping on 10/26.
the address of the FTP is intra.ripcorgames.com
the user name is "upload"
the password is "upload12"
and you'll find it in a folder called "EI Demo"

ENEMY INFESTATION is a real-time 3-D multi-player title that places gamers in command of a human colony located in the outermost reaches of space. Created for Ripcord Games by Micro Forte, one of Australia's largest development groups, ENEMY INFESTATION is a frantic and constantly changing battle where teamwork and strategic thinking are of the utmost importance.

Powerful and mysterious alien creatures have landed amidst this new frontier in an attempt to keep their race alive. It takes the assistance of troopers, biochemists, medics, mechanics, service robots and crew to prevent this infestation from destroying the bases and people who inhabit them. These colonist-eating creatures are bent on genocide, so it's crucial to collect and test weapons against the alien's primal killing instinct, discovering what is effective against their ever-adapting physiology. The game's reactive AI and randomized weapon effects make it challenging for gamers to play individually against the aliens or in the cooperative multi-player mode as a team.

"We wanted to take the best elements of this style of game and expand upon them", said John DeMargherti, CEO of Micro Forte. "The result is a game comprised of multiple layers. The diversity of the jobs that are given to the members of the colonist party create an environment of interdependency, where cooperative play sort of happens on its own. This, along with the intuitive nature of the AI, allows for the complex strategy of a turn-based game amid the fast-paced action of a real-time conflict."

ENEMY INFESTATION was created for Ripcord Games by Clockworks Entertainment, a division of Micro Forte, one of Australia's largest development groups. Previously, Micro Forte developed Demon Stalkers for Electronic Arts, America's Cup Sailing Simulation for EA and US Gold, and has contributed to the development of many other successful titles.
