ACTIVISION UNDERGOES INTERNET NETWORK UPGRADE THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 5, 1998

During the week of October 5, 1998 Activision will perform an Internet network upgrade. During this time, the company will provide limited web services, download capabilities and game servers.

Activision’s web site will be limited to a single web page for all Activision products. The page will have links to frequently requested facts including customer support contact information.

The Activision Store will not be processing orders from October 5 - 9. However, this will not affect any orders that were placed prior to October 5. The store will be fully serviceable again on Saturday, October 10.

Download patches or demos from the Activision web site will be hosted on only one server. Additionally, the company will offer fewer game servers than usual. Online gamers attempting to launch multiplayer games will find fewer servers hosting games. If a particular game server does not appear, players should simply select a different server from the list inside the game shell.

Over the last year, Activision's demand for Internet bandwidth has increased dramatically. As a result of this upgrade, the company will be better poised to handle the high traffic during the Christmas season, as well as projected future increases.

Activision expects all services to be returned by Monday, October 12, 1998.
